A NEW heritage circuit around a historic Doncaster cemetery has been opened.
Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton was at Hyde Park Cemetery in Carr Lane for the grand unveiling.
Devoted gardening group Friends of Hyde Park Cemetery created the walk with funding and support from pedestrian charity Living Streets which promote safe places for walking.
The circuit maps out 20 points of historical interest and visitors can obtain accompanying leaflets telling them more about the cemetery.
Leaflets are available from Doncaster Tourist Information Centre, High Street, or from Adrian Welch Glass and Glazing in Carr Lane.
As well as learning more about Doncaster’s history visitors are encouraged to enjoy the natural surroundings of the site opened in 1856.
