Free Guides - Experts share their heritage know how (Lincs County Council)

A new series of guides will help potential heritage heroes turn their dreams into reality.

The team behind the Lincolnshire Limewoods Project have used their extensive experience to produce a collection of guides to help both fledging and experienced groups bring local heritage to life. There are four titles in the series: ‘Getting Your Project Started’, ‘Archaeology in Heritage Projects’, ‘Using Written and Spoken History’ and ‘Presenting your Project’. Each provides a wealth of information on how to make the very best of your heritage project.

Liz Fleuty, Limewoods Project Officer, said: "We’ve worked with a number of local heritage groups through the Limewoods Community Heritage Scheme. All were passionate about what they were doing, but it soon became clear that there was a need for more information with regard to developing a project, where to go for funding, what to include and much more. Each group we worked with highlighted different aspects, so we’ve been able to combine all these to produce a really comprehensive set of guides. We hope that other groups across Lincolnshire and further afield will benefit from the lessons learned by the groups in the Limewoods, and these guides will certainly help them find the path to success.”

The guides are free of charge and can be ordered from:
