CELEBRATING days gone by, the Friends of Barnsley Archives and Local Studies will be hosting a ‘Barnsley in film’ show on Monday, July 11, at Parkway Cinema in Eldon Street.
The two hour show, from 10am to midday, will give viewers a taster of the extensive footage donated as part of the Experience Barnsley Museum and Archives project.
Included will be a showing of the well-known 1930’s mining film, Black Diamonds, along with several other titles spanning a century of change.
The show is being held in memory of the late Barnsley photographer, Stan Bulmer, who was involved in the early stages of creating this special event.
Tickets cost £2 each and are available from the Archives department, on the top floor of Barnsley Central Library in Shambles Street.
All proceeds from the show will go to the Friends Group who provide additional archive resources for the people of Barnsley.
