PLANS to create a new English Civil War museum at the old Magnus buildings in Newark will be on display at a public event this month.
Newark and Sherwood District Council has applied for a £2.8 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help pay for the £4.43 million project.
It already has some development funding.
As well as galleries devoted to the Civil War, the museum will also have education spaces and permanent and temporary exhibition space.
The plans will be presented at Newark Millgate Museum on July 27 at 6.30pm.
People can also speak to the project managers, museum service managers and a representative from the newly-formed Old Magnus Buildings friends group.
Tickets are not needed for the event.
