Event - Celebrating Our History (Clifton/Spalford)

South Clifton and District History Society is holding an exhibition entitled "Celebrating our History" on the weekend of 9th / 10th July 2011. As the name suggests, we are hoping to show our visitors the working life of our villages over the past few centuries in an entertaining and informative manner. The history of the villages of North and South Clifton and Spalford exemplifies the history of many small, rural towns and villages across the length and breadth of
Great Britain, and we welcome you all to come and join us in celebrating what we know of our shared history.

However, this is by no means meant to be a one-sided affair. We are also interested in any information you may have. If you have a collection of old photographs, or a pile of letters from an ancestor, maybe a diary highlighting local life in the past or some strange random object you dug up out of the garden, then do please bring it along and share it with us.

Entrance is free, but if you are interested in any of the data we have and would like a copy, then much of it will be available to purchase.

Do come and join us as St George's Church, North Clifton (just off the A1133) on either Saturday 9th July from 10am – 4pm, or Sunday 10th July from 10am – 2pm.
