Multi period windows in the eastern side of Radford (Worksop) Priory Gatehouse.
The higher window frame is a basket arch whilst the lower is a pointed arch. The Gatehouse was built in the early 14th century and both the east and west sides were hidden from view by buildings until the 18th century. It was last restored in 1912. The top part of the pointed arch was left open to as recently as this century.
The building was the first elementary school in England.
It is listed as Grade I It is now on English Heritages Buildings at Risk register. The Worksop Priory and Gatehouse Trust runs the site and The Princes Regeneration Trust is also interested in the area.
