Event - Restoration open day (Rossington)

The new owners of a historic building in Doncaster are throwing open the doors this weekend to allow people to see their plans for transforming it.

Rossington Hall, off the Great North Road, is going to be a major restoration project for local builder Gary Gee and his wife Michelle.

The 19th century mansion was until recently the Rossington Hall School, before a reorganisation of special schools across the borough resulted in it being closed.

Mr and Mrs Gee are inviting the public to come and see progress so far on Sunday between 1pm and 4pm.
Their aim is to restore the hall, its grounds and the Italian Sunken Garden to their original state as much as possible.

They feel it would make an ideal wedding venue and the couple are also searching for information about the hall and gardens to help their project.

Visitors will also be able to see the adjacent Northern Racing College stables.

Refreshments will be served and entertainment is being provided by the Markham Main Colliery Band.
