DO you want to discover more about a building or place where your ancestors
lived?
A workshop is being held at Nottingham Local Studies Library to help people find
out how to build up a clearer picture of where their relatives lived in bygone
years by using maps, electoral registers, census returns and photographs.
It will be a practical workshop which uses case studies based on a street in
the Meadows and the local pub at Colston Bassett to show how it is possible to
build up a picture of a place and its inhabitants over a period of time.
Although the examples used are local, the principles learned can be used for
finding the history of places in other parts of the country.
The workshop will be held on Tuesday January 17, from 10am to 4pm at
Nottingham Central Library, Angel Row.
Booking is essential as places are limited. The cost is £15, with a £5
deposit.
