May 7th The Copper Kettle Club Margaret Harrison. You think you know your notts history but do
you? The weird and wonderful! But what is true and what fiction. A history quiz with a difference.

June 4th. Sam Glasswell of Bassetlaw Museum talks on how they put exhibits together and how they conserve artifacts and look after them

July 2nd. Pete Castle. Folklore expert and musician. Folklore lies or legends? How reliable are folk stories and legends? Are they tools for history and research. Talk with plenty of examples some local. Sometimes they are nonsense and sometimes nuggets of information which you don't get in proper history.

1895 - he opened the police station door to be faced with a completely naked, except for a pair of socks, Henry Wright! His throat cut and a child in his arms on fire! The rest of the family were already dead. Did Henry Wright kill them all - you decide after hearing the evidence.

Talk - The Life and Times of Queen Victoria By Pat McLaughlin (Worksop)


Pat returns to give a talk on the life of one of Britain’s most renown monarchs. The talk will delve into the early years of Victoria’s life explaining how she became Queen. The talk will also delves into Victoria’s relationship with Prince Albert and how she interacted with the other European monarchies.
